Frequently asked questions

Does the address count as an official registered office?

Yes. The address is filed as your company's registered office with the Registrar of Companies: this is where Mauritian law requires official mail to be received and certain registers to be kept. We issue you a certificate of registered office for your paperwork.

Is this a virtual office?

Yes, in the everyday sense: a business address in Grand Baie that receives your post, with same-day notification, mail scanning and mail forwarding, and no premises to rent. It is also a registered office in the legal sense, filed with the Registrar of Companies, which a plain virtual office address is not always.

Can I use the address for a company BlueVisa did not set up?

Yes. An existing Mauritian company can transfer its registered office to us: we prepare the resolution and file the change of address with the Registrar. Allow 4 to 5 business days once the documents are in (directors' KYC included).

How do mail scanning and mail forwarding work?

Every item is received and logged, you hear from us the same day, and we tell you who it's from. Mail scanning: on the personal address plan, post is opened and scanned within one working day. Mail forwarding: on request, we forward post within Mauritius or internationally, at cost.

Is there a minimum commitment?

The registered address is billed annually (a company needs a stable registered office, and the Registrar must be notified of every change). Once a year has begun, the full year is payable. If you move to your own premises mid-year, we can't refund it or issue a credit note.

Why a Mauritian resident director?

The Companies Act requires at least one director resident in Mauritius for every domestic company. As long as you are not living on the island, the Resident director + registered address option provides that resident director together with the registered office: we sign your routine resolutions and annual filings, keep your register of directors and file with the Registrar. We validate the structure with you on the discovery call.

Is a registered address enough for tax substance?

An address does not create tax residency: substance is assessed as a whole (effective management, accounts, decision-making, genuine activity). A registered address is a necessary building block, not a sufficient one. If tax is central to your project, we can go through it on the discovery call: this is exactly the kind of structure we validate with our partners before starting.
